VOLUNTEERS FROM THE U.S., CANADA, AND EUROPE
Since its inception, CFK has had a strong presence on the University of North Carolina's Chapel Hill campus. However, UNC is not the only college from which CFK members hail. CFK has provided sponsorship and resources to students from various other universities who conduct independent research projects, internships, and volunteer work in Kibera, including Duke University, Cornell University, Columbia University, Georgetown University, James Madison University, Grove City College, The University of Linkoping (Sweden), Harvard University, and University of British Columbia (Canada).
For the summer 2009, CFK will only select two students from UNC and two students from Duke University. Students from other universities are highly encouraged to check back with CFK for volunteer opportunities next year.

James and Florence Peacock Fellowship
Thanks to a grant from the William Rand Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust, CFK has established the James and Florence Peacock Fellowship. The fellowship is named in honor of the Peacocks, who have been tremendous supporters of CFK since its inception. Two fellowships are awarded annually to two UNC student volunteers to defray the costs associated with volunteering in Kibera. UNC students who apply to be a CFK Summer Volunteer will automatically be considered for the Peacock Fellowship. For more information, please contact us at cfk@unc.edu.
VOLUNTEERS FROM KENYA
Students interested in volunteering with CFK-Kenya throughout the year AND are studying at universities in Nairobi, other parts of Kenya, or neighboring African countries should inquire about available opportunities by e-mailing CFK Executive Director Salim Mohamed at cfk@unc.edu.
