Inspire an Athlete
Help inspire youth to keep building athletic skills and playing for peace. Between our annual soccer tournament and jump rope program, CFK reaches over 4,000 young athletes each year.
Our first program, the Sports Association has been promoting ethnic cooperation through sports and mentoring young athletes for over a decade. Alums of the program can now be found running their own businesses, playing in Kenya’s Premier League, and returning to CFK as volunteer coaches and referees. Equipment and expenses for tournaments are the programs largest and most important costs.
The Sports Association’s newest initiative, jump rope, has grown rapidly and earned its place as one of CFK’s most popular programs for youth. This year, members of the CFK Sprinters traveled to the U.S. to compete in One World One Rope’s World Championship & Camp. Back home, the team continues to perform at events at Nairobi’s Nyayo Stadium for thousands of people. With approximately 60 jumpers, the program is strong, but needs more jump ropes, uniforms, and training to grow.
