WHAT'S GOING ON?
The CFK Sports Program continues to further its primary mission of community involvement and ethnic harmony through soccer. Over 210 teams registered for the 2006 annual tournament and all teams are required to participate in garbage collection within their communities, earning three extra points in the standings and eligibility for the CFK championship as an incentive. Fifteen of the most involved leaders of the program were selected to participate in a nation-wide referee training, and are now licensed to work in any division of the Kenyan league. Kicking AIDS Out, a new program educating youth about AIDS through soccer and peer outreach grew substantially. North Carolina-based Sports Endeavors continues to generously donate new and used soccer equipment to the Sports Program.
