ABDUL “CANTAR” HUSSEIN SULEIMAN joined CFK in 2001 as the elected Youth Representative from Makina Village.  In 2002 Cantar became the CFK Sports Council Chair, was awarded the first CFK Provost Leadership Award, and subsequently was appointed Youth Coordinator.  Cantar finished his high school studies at Kisii High School in 1998 and played professional soccer at the national level until suffering a debilitating knee injury in a nationwide soccer match in 1998. Cantar recently traveled to the United States for the first time to accept the Reflection of Hope Award in Oklahoma City, awarded to CFK in April 2008 for its work stabilizing and promoting peace in Kibera during the post-election violence.
