John Obura Warah
Nurse Aide
Born to small-scale subsistence farmers in rural Kenya, John joined CFK in 2003 as a Nurse’s Aide. After moving to Kibera from the country in 1999, John joined the Comprehensive Nursing College of Nairobi in 2000. He graduated in 2001 as a Nurse Aide and worked at Mother and Child Hospital for three years. With CFK, John assisted with the Tabitha Clinic’s primary care services, as well as with the home-based care initiative. In 2006, John was recruited to join the CDC-KEMRI Kibera Surveillance Project, continuing at CFK’s Tabitha Clinic. John’s hobbies include visiting needy people, singing in a choir, making friends, playing volleyball, and reading.
