TAKA NI PATO

PARTNERSHIPS/YOUTH GROUPS

Under the guidance of the Social Ministry Research Network Center (SOMIRENEC), CFK has implemented Taka ni Pato in partnership with Maji na Ufanisi (Water and Development), Riruta Environmental Group (REG), and Pamoja Trust (PT).  The four partner agencies agreed to a memorandum of understanding and embraced the following guiding principles:

*The poor are at the center of our work and whatever we do should promote their dignity, pride, human development, and environment.

*Inherent in our work lays the appreciation that the poor are rich in many resources, talents, assets, entrepreneurship, intelligence, and creativity, and therefore our work should be to help them realize and express these qualities.

*As partners we came together and made a commitment that we shall use our resources and expertise to achieve our objectives and capitalize on each other’s strengths, have tolerance for each other’s weaknesses, and allow room for growth.

*In all our dealings we shall be open, honest, and thrifty in the use of resources and should at all times be prepared to account for whatever resources are entrusted to us.

*We as partners shall promote co-responsibility and should avoid competing against each other.

*We shall respect religious, gender, cultural, and political values of people.

*We shall strive to foster values and a democratic process in our work, within ourselves, and in all those we work with.

*We shall be open to learn from each other and across borders.
