Student Volunteer, Binti Pamoja

Alex is a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she is studying Peace, War and Defense, Anthropology, and Social and Economic Justice. While in Kenya, she will work with the Binti Pamoja girls, facilitating creative writing workshops, peer education sessions, and a photography project. She is also working with the SRH Peer Educators on project documentation and outreach. After graduating, Alex hopes to work in post-conflict areas, within the fields of public health and social work. She is interested in the confluence of community health, women’s rights, memory and conflict resolution.
